Every Good Girl Should Get the Goods on Google Latitude
Simmer down ladies. This is not a feature on how darling and dashing Josh Jackson looks when he's texting his girlfriend Diane Kruger. And we won't be discussing the baby blue hue of his eyes. Josh wants to talk about Rogers' first Android smartphones, the HTC Magic and Dream.
Rogers has announced the first Android devices in Canada for $149.99 on three-year contract, and are offering a promotional $30 6 GB monthly data plan. You can pick em up in stores now.
To help celebrate the launch of Canada's first Android-powered smartphones, Josh Jackson toured secret locations in Toronto meeting with fans and offering chances to win Rogers prizes to anyone who locates him. He posted clues to his whereabouts with live blog updates and photos. Google-savvy fans then used Google Search™, Google Maps™ and Google Latitude™ to find his location and meet him in person! Talk about an experiential marketing coup. Every girl should brush up on her understanding of Google Latitude as it will no doubt evolve into an enduring and influential technology.
The Magic's form struck me as immediately impressive - sleek and sexy.
The 3.2" HVGA touchscreen is responsive and
smooth, especially when navigating the browser. It's a high-powered
stick of visual dynamite - the ability to scan a page in full-screen
with the fisheye
lens then release to zoom is expedient and highly gratifying. Apparently the OS learns your finger placement
and adjusts accordingly. This is
one sweet piece of smart. And based on some of the
ads they previewed for us, Rogers appears to be pushing the slider Dream more
than the newer, more impressive, full-touchscreen Magic.
For the urbanite on the go, the HTC Magic is one smoking hot mobile device. We especially LOVE the 5 megapixel camera!
