What's Wired and Prettier than a Prada Clutch?

The HP Mini Studio Tord Boontje Edition

Netbooks have quickly become the fashion accessory for wired women on the go. Our favorite new tech accessory is HP's distinctive and individual run of 10-inch Mini 110 models. We love the design by Studio Tord Boontje a powerhouse Dutch industrial designer. This Mini 110 features an intricate design stemming from a delicate matrix of subtle natural and animal structures. HP's unique 3D Imprint technology achieves a novel holographic' effect on the lid - as you tilt it into different lights, revealing different patterns as you walk on your way.

The Mini 110 Studio Tord Boontje edition is very light and highly portable. It's a snap to pick up and travel around with, or stack on some textbooks if you plan to use it for school. HP has included a stunning, matching felt case with the Studio Tord Boontje edition which is a sweet little surprise - quite a luxury when you think of it.

The 10.1-inch glossy display is just right - not too bright, or too sharp. The 110 is only as wide as its keyboard which, in turn, is 92% the size of a regular keyboard. No need to work about finger crunching or neck stressing! In fact, the keyboard is the most comfortable of any netbook we've used. It's sized very well to make use of limited space. Keyboard flex is non-existent because of the tight clearances in the super thin chassis. Once you get your palms aligned properly on the small palmrest it's a breeze to type on. Individual key action is smooth with a barely audible click when pressed. The keys feel very solid, something that you would expect from a great keyboard.

The left side profile completes the selection of ports. The lower half of the notebook is constructed from matte, textured white plastic which affords better grip when on the go. A single heat-expulsion vent is located on the left side to keep it all cool and easy breezy. The right hand profile of the notebook accentuates the thin design along with an impressive selection of ports for a netbook of this size.

And for the Type A types out there with their stiff ponytails and polished every-thing-is-new vibe, the white tone of the keyboard will not accentuate oil accumulation like the black keyboard of the regular HP Mini 110. Goodness knows, some women are as into oil-control of their tech as well as their skin tones!

The Mini 110 mixes up typical Netbook dimensions, adding a sexy thickness, while slimming out the front-to-back depth, making for a smaller desktop footprint than usual. It feels sweet in the hand (and in your laptop bag), but when open, the keyboard tray has essentially zero wasted space.

This Netbook can take on all your on-the-go demands as it features a Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, the fantastic, must-have Windows 7 starter, and a 160GB 5,400rpm HDD. Build quality is above average with high quality plastics used throughout the body. The plastics don't creak or squeak when you are carrying it around, and when closed it has a very solid feel. Compared to the other netbooks on the market, this HP Mini easily wins in the design category!
