Kobo Offers Free Trial Period For Periodicals

In honor of Kobo's newspaper and magazine app launch for their e-reader, the popular digital device company is offering a two week trial period with open access to its periodicals.

Great news for students, professors, researchers, and geeks! A good chunk of titles from the U.S. and Canada have been added to the Kobo Newsstand including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Seattle Times, Vancouver Sun, Victoria Times-Colonist, PCMag.com, and The Globe & Mail.

Kobo already offers a generous 100 free downloads for each e-reader purchase, and the selection is a book lover's dream, complete with classic literature and a fantastic mix of lesser known gems as well.

"Kobo continues to build on our commitment of making sure that consumers have the best reading experience on any device with the largest selection of content worldwide," Michael Serbinis, chief executive of Kobo, said in a press statement.

Starting at $13.99 per month, users can subscribe to the newspapers after the two week period an d $2.99 for magazines.
