Blonde Bombshell's Career As Memorable As Her Iconic Red Swimsuit

Actress and sex symbol for a generation of teenaged boys, Farrah Fawcett has died after a long battle with cancer.

She was first diagnosed with anal cancer three years ago and had recently returned to the hospital for treatment of complications.

Said longtime leading man Ryan O'Neal, She's gone. She now belongs to the ages.

He continued, "She's now with her mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She's in a better place now.

After appearing in commercials and as a guest star on various television shows, Farrah rose to fame after posing in a red bathing suit for a poster that went on
to sell millions of copies before Pamela Anderson was even old enough to have her first boob job. The feather-haired star later skyrocketed to fame as the star in the original girl power group on TV's Charlie's Angels.

But her career wasn't all jiggle and bounce. Farrah earned an Emmy nomination, and respect, as the battered wife in The Burning Bed. She went on to earn two more Emmy nods, one for the 1989 TV movie Small Sacrifices and another for a 2001 guest appearance on The Guardian. She also garnered Oscar buzz for playing a revenge-seeking rape victim in the 1986 film Extremities, a project she first tackled off-Broadway.

Farrah and O'Neal lived together on-and-off for 29 years after her tabloid split from Six Million Dollar Man star Lee Majors, but they never made it down the aisle. And the couple never seemed more on-again than when Fawcett took ill. In her final days, Ryan stated they would finally tie the knot, as soon as she can, say yes. Maybe we can just nod her head.

"In the last two years, I loved her more than I've ever loved herever," O'Neal told Today this year.

Said O'Neal: "I don't know what I'll do without her, to tell you the truth."

As cynical and cranky as we often are, this Romeo and Juliet-esque chapter in their love affair makes us a bit sniffle-y. Must be allergies or something.

Despite her failing health, the actress spent the last months of her life filming a TV documentary chronicling her illness, including several trips to Germany to undergo experimental treatment.

Fawcett is survived by her son with O'Neal, Redmond, who is currently serving a jail term in California after repeated drug offenses.

We're striking one final Charlie's Angel's pose for ya, Ms. Munroe.

I have the Charlie's Angels ringtone on my cell phone for two of my friends. I will never hear it the same way again...
