The King of Pop is Dead
This just has not been a good week for pop culture icons.
First Ed McMahon dying earlier this week and Farrah Fawcett today, and now King of Pop Michael Jackson has has died after suffering cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home.
Reportedly the moonwalker was given CPR after suffering cardiac arrest and is in "really bad shape," according to a Jackson family member.
Joe Jackson, Michael's father, has been alerted to the emergency but doesn't have details. "I am in Las Vegas but, yes, people in Los Angeles called me and are with Michael and tell me he was taken to the hospital," he said.
"His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him. "I am not sure what's wrong. I am waiting to hear back from them," adds Joe.
Michael was set to kick off his hugely hyped "This Is It" comeback concert this summer in London. The 80-set tour was scheduled to start on July 8, however, the date was pushed back to July 13.
"There's nothing nefarious. It's strictly a production issue. There's nothing going on with his health," said concert promoter Randy Phillips just last month.
OK, we feel sorta bad now that our first reaction was, "Man, I wonder if his nose gave up clinging to his face and finally fell off?"
What? It's not like you would have been totally shocked if it had. Come on, admit it.
