Bring On The Red Bull - TIFF Has Only Just Begun!

* The Jonas Brothers have breathlessly been reported loitering around Yorkville--the trio is overstaying their August 30th concert to film the sequel to Camp Rock. According to Woman.ca sources, cameras are rolling on the production at local sound stage Pinewood Toronto Studios. See, unrelenting nagging and vodka shots are a reporter's best friends. Oh, and "journalistic integrity," too. Right.

* Press conference quip: Society would fall apart without lies [and] I don't want to be told the truth certainly not at a film festival, The Informant director Steven Soderbergh. And speaking of lies, his favorite whopper? "Honey, I loved your film."

* Make room downtown for yet another stretch limo. U2 front man Bono is set to hit town next week for a band stand at Rogers Centre, which kicks off on Sept. 16. If you have any bars left on your camera phone after 10 non-stop days of celeb stalking, word is he'll be holed up at the Hazelton hotel.

* Missing the point by a mile: Actress Mena Suvari at the Nikki Beach showing of "A Sealed Fate," Nigel Barker's exhibition of seal photos and documentary, to National Post's social columnist Shinan Govani, "I love animals." She was wearing a leopard print dress.

* What's the 4-1-1? Mary J. Blige is set to blow the roof off tonight at the hotly anticipated One X One Gala at Koolhaus. The Matt Damon-hosted benefit is one of the most socially conscious, annually raising a lot of money and support for children
suffering locally and globally. Dare we hope Snoop Dogg, who's premiering "Down for Life" with Danny Glover, will drop in for a little PYT duet in memory of Michael Jackson after MJB pulled out of MTV's planned tribute show? Or even a takin'-it-to-church rendition of "Gin and Juice?" That would be, er, dope!
