It's A Race Between Dances With Smurfs And A Bunch Of Other Movies You Probably Haven't Seen

The 2010 Academy Award Nominations were announced this morning, you know, as a helpful reminder in case you forgot that not every movie that came out last year was all preachy, with pretty sparkly blue kittenchimps and freaky love muscles and pterodactyly-dragony thingys, in which a few really good actors and some definite C to D listers appear, and is SO DAMN PRETTY AND THE EFFECTS ARE SO OHMYGOD that you have to wear eyegunk infected spectacles and makes a bazillion dollars.

Well, now that that's off our chest ...

This year there are 10 picks for Best Picture so between the "Who Knew It was Possible To Get a Mosquito Bite THERE" band camp musical numbers and banter more awkward than Tom Cruise pretending to like kissing girls, the telecast will probably wrap up about this same time next year. Now brought to you in HD by Depends adult diapers!

There aren't any real surprises on the list so pretty much the only suspense will be if Mo'Nique shaves the forest on her legs or not for the big night.

Avatar will probably go on to win a bunch of awards making James Cameron that much more conceited. They should lock his movie out just to knock him down a peg or two. Don't want him getting a big head or nothin'.
