Another American Idol judge bites the dust.

TMZ is reporting that Kara DioGuardi has been ousted from the judging panel. It seems as if American Idol will be going back to the original three-judge format. Rumors are that the new panel will consist of Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.

There have also been discussions of having American Idol transformed into a reality show that would put all the contestants together in the same house so as to document all the back-stage drama. In this scenario the judges would be eliminated altogether.

At the moment, Kara is not under contract and it doesn't seem as if FOX is too keen on signing her on for another year.

The Daily Inquirer reported that Kara was completely shocked and appalled by the news of her replacement. A source divulges Kara loved judging Idol. She's horrified that she's just being tossed aside like this. She understands the show is in need of a revamp, but Kara really thought she had a job for as long as she wanted it. She's beside herself.

No officially statements have been made, so I guess we will have to wait and see what will happen next.
