It was a jam packed weekend for soon-to-be-wed star couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry. The brunette bombshell found herself waking up in Vegas just seven days ago after a wild bachelorette party thrown by close pal Rihanna, but this weekend she toned it down - only a little - for the opening season of Saturday Night Live. The hit of the headlines recently for an apparently over exposed cameo on Sesame Street, Perry poked fun at the incident by appearing in a sketch with Amy Poehler in which she bounced herself on stage wearing pigtails and a much too tight fitting Elmo t-shirt. She performed her two hit singles off her new record, "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream", accompanied by her now trademark posse of rainbow colour wigged dancers and a makeshift utopia of candy.

Keeping it cool himself, Russell Brand celebrated his last days of bachelorhood with a stag in London over the weekend, which reports are saying was alarmingly sober! The recovered substance, sauce, & sex addict invited friends like Noel Gallagher and other English buds to join him in some low-key festivities which included watching his favourite football team and pub crawling. They ate and drank and then concluded their night at Peter Stringfellow's Angel's table dancing club in central London. Described by Stringfellow himself, he said the event was the most sober stag party in the history of nightclubs'.

Brand was spotted the next day looking wide awake and jolly on his way over to Guy Ritchie's house to discuss film prospects of Sherlock Holmes 2, and even did a little jig in the driveway! Could this former wild child really be changing his ways to settle down?
