Is Justin Bieber Hosting Punk'd Best Prank Ever?
We may be in for the best prank of all time: MTV is finalizing a deal to bring back the hilarious television series Punk'd.
And, to sweeten the deal, people are saying that Justin Bieber is set to host.
Wait. Before you scan the room and frantically search every nook and cranny for a surprise pop-up appearance by Ashton Kutcher, allow us to calm your nerves a little by clarifying. You are not being Punk'd... yet. And, so far, it's all just celebrity buzz.
According to sources,co-creators Kutcher and Jason Goldberg are getting busy on the new installment of Punk'd right away, and apparently Beibs is part of the plan. However, nothing has been set in stone. After all, we always figured there was a feud between Ashton and Biebs: He's the only teen superstar who has Kutcher matched for number of Twitter followers!
The show, which featured hidden cameras to aid in outrageous pranks played on celebrities, has been on hiatus since 2007 and is long overdue for a revival after 4 years and 69 episodes. No premiere date has been set for the new series but it's been reported that production will soon be under way, and and viewers should expect the launch sometime within the next year.
Kutcher and Bieber are currently #3 and #5 on the list of top celebrities on Twitter and are both known to make a regular habit of entertaining the masses on the Internet. Could a collaboration like this be mutually beneficial? Or is the joke on us?
