The Depths Of Johnny Depp's Love

Johnny Depp Surprises School Kids

Remember all those letters to Jonathan Taylor Thomas you stashed under your bed when you were thirteen? Well, you might consider dragging them back out.

We all love the idea of crossing paths with celebs. At a Starbucks. At a Wal Mart. Or, if you want to see Lindsay, Brit or Paris, at a Police station...

When the age of technology ushered in the magical force of the Internet, sites like Twitter and Perez Hilton started to tip us off, tell us where they went to eat, sleep and shop, and expose the mundane details of Hollywood. It only took a few bad photos of celebs without makeup to realize that most stars are really just specks of sand.

Johnny Depp
, however, has always been a diamond in the rough. He proved it once again a few days ago after responding to an e-mail written by a nine year-old girl in south east London. She had written the actor and requested that he visit her school.

She wrote the following:

"At Meridian primary school, we are a bunch of budding young pirates and we were having a bit of trouble mutinying against the teachers and we'd love if you could come and help."

Short and sweet must be the way to go because to the whole school's surprise... it worked!

Decked out in his full Captain Jack Sparrow attire, Depp arrived on the scene giving the school administrators only ten minutes notice before his arrival. Since he was already filming his new Pirates of the Caribbean flick nearby at the Royal Naval College, the request was a fairly easy one to carry out in terms of location... but even if there is a sick kid in hospital right across the street from the studio, many Hollywood heartthrobs wouldn't even bother.

Students were herded into the gym for a spontaneous assembly where they were met by the swaggering pirate himself, complete with dreadlocks, flamboyance, and signature eyeliner. Needless to say, the children were overjoyed. As are we! Thank you, Johnny Depp, for always being a class act and thinking of the little people!

If you could have any celebrity visit you at school or work, who would be your top pick?
