Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan Split

Lovestruck fans of Shia LaBeouf can breathe easy now that the Hollywood hunk has officially called it quits with actress Carey Mulligan.

Sad but true, the couple who shared an apartment in the trendy SoHo area of Manhattan have now decided to part ways. Shia and Carey paired off on the set of their film during the summer of 2009.

In an interview with People, director Oliver Stone discussed observing the ever apparent chemistry between the two, despite their efforts at maintaining professionalism on set.

"They were completely professional on set, but there was no mistaking what was happening."

Since the split, Carey has been said to have gone back to her UK home with intentions of spending more time in London. As far as Shia's post-break up progress is concerned, headlines last week revealed that he might not be handling his sudden bachelorhood too well.
