Mariah Carey Expecting First Baby

Mariah Carey has had her fair share of media attention over the years between turbulent relationships, depression, and a feud with rapper Eminem.

But now, the 41 year old singer and actress is in the spotlight with a pleasant surprise - a baby! Nick Cannon will no longer be the only one in the house watching Saturday morning cartoons.

After some speculation over the past couple of months, the star and her husband, America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon, announced on television that they are expecting.

In an interview with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush on The Today Show she said: "Yes, we are pregnant. This is true. It's been a long journey, but it's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy and that was not easy. "

Carey discussed the emotional highs and lows of her marriage with Nick Cannon subsequent to their wedding in 2008. Apparently within the first month she suffered a miscarriage which impacted them both deeply.

Cannon said that the experience had made them both stronger. "It definitely brought us closer together. It strengthened our relationship so much She handled it so well."
