Jessica Simpson's Gettin' Hitched...Again!

Well, it's official. Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are engaged! But wait, not to each other. Been there, done that.

It was only last week that Simpson's ex-husband of boyband fame, Nick Lachey, announced his engagement to four year girlfriend Vanessa Mannillo. Now this week, with remarkable timing, Jessica Simpson has surprised fans with the same news.

Hmm. Does something smell fishy around here or is that just chicken of the sea?

On Sunday, father of the soon-to-be bride Joe Simpson took to Twitter with the news of wedding bells ringing, saying, "So very happy for Jess and Eric. May they have a lifetime of joy and happiness."

Since May, the singer, shoe designer, and "Price of Beauty" TV star has been dating former NFL player Eric Johnson, continuing her apparent football fetish after a two year relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, which ended infamously in 2009 on her birthday. Ouch.

Fiance Eric Johnson, a Yale graduate, used to play for the San Francisco 49ers before becoming a free agent in 2008. Guess he's not a free agent anymore.

Did we mention he recently finalized a divorce of his own after a five year marriage? Yikes. Let's hope all that foul play is finally out of the picture and Jessica scores a touchdown this time around.
