More than 80 pictures of China's top actress Zhang Ziyi sunbathing topless and frolicking on a beach have appeared on the Internet, sending netizens in China wild on Tuesday. We were just having a little tour of our favourite sino-celeb-watcher gossip site Asia-Celebs.com when we caught wind of the pics after a spell of jet-lag.

We guarantee that every pubescent boy in China has pictured Zhang Ziyi naked at one point in his hormonal cinematic life. And seeing as how boys outnumber girls for oh so many storied reasons in this country of dubious gender equality, The Gossiptimist can do the math. We reckon more men have fantasized about seeing Zhang's rack than the storied racks of Monica Bellucci or Angelina Jolie. It's simple arithemetic: Half a Billion Chinese Males + 4.2 Billion Non-Chinese Males with Asian Fetish. Bellucci has nothing on Zhang.

So, you can imagine, these photos aren't just your everyday DListed bikini photos. This is a serious cultural moment. Zhang has served on the Cannes Jury and is considered one of the most exhalted actresses of contemporary cinema, regardless of race. What's next, Gong Li in sweat pants at the 7-11?

The pictures, taken by a Los Angeles-based paparazzi agency, showed Zhang on the Caribbean island of St Barts with her fiance, Israeli investor Vivi Nevo, last Friday. We are doing serious shout outs to Vivi at The Gossiptimist HQ. Surely he's one of the most Googled names of the week. As in, who is this dude licking Zhang Ziyi's back?

We at The Gossiptimist have been keeping a crib sheet on Vivi for quite sometime now. The most important deets: 1) Nevo counts Time Warner's Richard Parsons, Ron Perelman, and Madonna among his "best buds" 2) Lenny Kravitz crashed at his place in Malibu 3) Owns a sizable chunk of Time Warner and has homes in Malibu, Brentwood, Tribeca, London, Tel Aviv, and Beijing.

Zhang was photographed in a red bikini reading a book, doing a bridge and even a splits on the sand. She took off her red bikini top and rolled down her bottom as she sun bathed and the photographs captured her lying topless beside her fiance. Fiance Vivi Nevo was also caught on camera grabbing her bottom and enthusiastically kissing the whole length of her back.

Chinese Internet forums have been flooded with comments including critiques of her figure, and allegations that "she has forgotten she is Chinese". Ahem, alright then. We adore the work of this killer international talent and welcome her to the western world. It's an equally barbaric place little grasshopper...
