isn't uncommon for everyday people to have some of the similar looks
seen on the celebrities of Hollywood. However, unintentionally being a
star's doppelganger may come with consequences, as one reality
television star is proving.
Recently, Kim Kardashian announced that she is suing Old Navy, the renowned clothing company, for using a lookalike in one of their commercials. Melissa Molinaro is the woman seen in the advertisement, promoting Old Navy summer clothes and accessories.
Molinaro is currently dating Kardashian's ex-boyfriend, Reggie Bush. Does the lawsuit come as a coincidence? Maybe, but the court documents say that the reality star is simply attempting to protect her good name and reputation.
"[Kim Kardashian] has invested substantial time, energy, finances and entrepreneurial effort in developing her considerable professional and commercial achievements and success, as well as in developing her popularity, fame, and prominence in the public eye," the lawsuit states.
A spokesperson for the Gap company says that they have yet to look over the lawsuit and will not comment any further on the incident. Regardless, this may just be enough to keep Molinaro away from the cameras for awhile.
