Do We Breed This Particular Kind of Slurring, Bi-Polar Mess of a Faux Celebrity?

Former Atomic Kitten singer reality star Kerry Katona slurred her words and appeared in a confused state during an interview on ITV1's This Morning. She blamed her condition on prescription medication taken the night before to help her sleep. The 28-year-old suffers from bipolar disorder, otherwise known as manic depression.

As worried viewers began calling the programme, co-presenter Phillip Schofield interrupted the interview to say: "There will be a lot of people watching you now who have followed your career and seen your ups and downs and really watched you lurch from crisis to crisis. We have known you for a very long time and, if I'm honest, you don't seem right to me sitting here now. Your speech is a little bit slurred."

"Is it?" asked Katona, clearly surprised by the question.

The 28-year-old former cocaine user has been accused of alcohol abuse in the past, and was pictured drinking while pregnant with her fourth child.

Kerry Katona was brought up by her mother and her first memory was of her mother's attempted suicide. She was raised by four sets of foster parents, and attended eight different schools. She left school at age 16 to become a stripper, then gained fame for being a member of the girl group Atomic Kitten. She left in 2001 when she became pregnant. After marrying musician Brian McFadden, she moved into television, appearing on Britain's Sexiest, Loose Women and Elimidate. In February 2004, Katona won the third edition of British reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

However Katona says she's now a surgery addict. After stripping down to pose naked for Zoo magazine, she admits she won't be embarking on any special diets to keep her figure, admitting she scoffed a chicken sandwich and chips at 4am following the op. "I've had two bacon baguettes this morning, but I've not had my favourite beef curry since surgery", she says. The singer had liposuction and a breast augmentation to drop from a size 14 to a size 10. Pamela Anderson has nothing on Kerry Katona!
