Bobby Trendy & Sweetie Pie Are Ready For Their Close-ups

The fine line between high-brow and low-brow just got a bit thinner. Britain's Royal Opera is planning a show based on the life of the late Anna Nicole Smith.

They have a lot of material to draw from: the blonde bombshell went from being a small-town Texas stripper named Vickie Lynn Marshall to a Playboy Playmate, married an oil tycoon 63 years her senior, starred in her own E! reality show, fought a Supreme Court battle for her share of a $500 million fortune, and lost her son days after giving birth to a daughter, before dying in 2007 of an accidental drug overdose like her idol Marilyn Monroe.

This just might be the role that newly rehabbed Tara Reid was born to play.

Appropriately, the story will be written by Richard Thomas, co-creator of Jerry Springer: The Opera. Says, the company's director of opera, Elaine Padmore: the show "is not going to be tawdry; it is going to be witty, clever, thoughtful and sad." Does this mean that we could one day see Paris Hilton: The Life and Times of a Celebutante, on-stage?

The musical train wreck is scheduled for 2011.
