Slumdog Millionaire Stars Together For Reals?

Movie Underdogs Might Be Undercover BFFs (With Benefits)

Slumdog Millionaire's love story might be coming true in real life for co-stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel. Hollywood buzz is building that the two are an off-screen item, locking lips even after director Danny Boyle yelled "cut!"

This should come as quasi-good news for geeks everywhere. Ryan Adams lands Mandy Moore and now another beauty-and-the-geek hookup. This must be the biggest news in the comic-con universe since the X-Men franchise.

Pinto and Patel denied any hint of canoodling or entanglement of body parts, despite Ryan Seacrest's pointy-fingered probes at the Oscars, "Are you dating? So are ya, huh? You can tell me, I won't tell anyone . . ." But what's a denial when there are column inches to fill?

Never one to shy away from an open microphone, Slumdog co-star Anil Kapoor coyly alluded to them being together in an interview, "I think this is the beginning of something exciting. They definitely make a great pair and look very good together. When I meet them I feel there is something happening."

And of course there's that pesky little detail that Pinto might already be secretly engaged or married to to her college sweetheart. Whew! The overnight "It" girl is going to need some Ballywood choreography (and stamina!) to keep up with all the testosterone-fueled rumors.

Secret romance, a whiff of scandal, hit flick and some serious gold hardware: Welcome to the tabloid headlines, kids. You've officially hit the big time.
