Say It Isn't So . . .
Following in the dysfunctional footsteps of Ike and Tina Turner, Rihanna and Chris Brown are apparently back together.
A source tells People magazine, "They're together again. They care for each other." The on-again couple are currently spending time together at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs's homes.
Adds the source: "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves." Right. The same woman that he is ready to partially blame for the dust-up, citing self defense?
On Monday, a snitch told the New York Daily News: "Even after what Chris did to her, Rihanna is crazy about him. They have been talking and have agreed that once the legal problems are ironed out, they will be together. They have vowed to meet at a secret rendezvous location outside of Los Angeles."
The couple had been apart since Brown's arrest for allegedly assaulting Rihanna on Grammy night on Feb. 8. Evidence of the altercation was made public in a leaked police photo of the "Umbrella" singer.
Rumors circulated soon after Brown's arrest that the two stayed in constant contact via phone calls and text messages. And Brown reportedly called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday and sent a host of presents, including an iPod and diamond necklace and bracelet and also phoned her during her low-key party in Los Angeles. Because nothing says "I'm sorry for busting your face and then running away like a little girlie man" like an iPod Nano.
After the police photo of Rihanna became known, Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, stated that when it comes to Brown, his daughter should move on. A relative agreed: I don't want her to go back to him. I don't think anyone does.
Even legendary singer Whitney Houston, who had a violent relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown, was urging the Barbados-born beauty not to take Brown back. A friend told the National Enquirer magazine: "When Whitney heard what had happened to Rihanna, she was close to tears. Right then she knew she had to contact her and urge her to get out of the relationship while she can. She made it clear that Rihanna should dump Chris." Girl, when Whitney "crack is whack" is telling you it's a bad situation, that's probably some advice you should listen to. Just saying.
Brown, who was booked on Grammy night on suspicion of making criminal threats, is due to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 5 but, according to the L.A. District Attorney's Office, that might not happen. At this point, it's unclear what Rihanna and Brown's reported reunion could mean for the D.A.'s case.
Jay-Z, who discovered Rihanna, is reportedly verrrry, verrry angry about the nastiness that went down between his protege and Brown, and has allegedly said of Brown that he's basically a dead man walking. Yikes. We almost feel sorry for Brown. Almost . . .
