The One Where the Hot Aussie Shows WOMAN.ca How to Bump N' Grind in the Kitchen

alt

When a girl gets to sit down to dinner with hunky chef and media personality Curtis Stone, suddenly the kitchen is a whole new creative arena with a sun-kissed, nothing-can-go-wrong vibe. And I'm suddenly ravenous, as if I've never eaten tuna ceviche before. Watching him squeeze a big, ripe lemon with his fist suddenly goes from pedestrian to Olympian. Those biceps, that tanned forearm!

The famous chef with the Great Barrier Reef blue eyes was voted one of People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive, joining the ranks of Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

Stone, the star celebrity chef of TLC's Take Home Chef, is also a highly practical man in the kitchen. We've all have inefficient kitchen equipment cramp our style and dampen our hosting mojo. After spending some 20 years cooking under pressure, he's launched a genius line of cooking utensils - Kitchen Solutions, available across Canada at The Bay, that lets cooks relax while preparing a meal. It all comes down to common sense design with chic contemporary styling. Divided into four categories"Chop," "Prep," "Serve" and "Bake"all the products have a stylish and modern look. Either in stainless steel, white porcelain, bamboo, or glass, they'll definitely stir conversation among guests..

We were treated to champagne upon arrival at Dish on Dupont, followed by a delicious four course dinner complete with wine pairings courtesy of Penfolds. Stone cooked and we watched. Women lifestyle editors of Toronto have never been so united under one hypnotic gaze. Yours truly included. How happy were we that our fair city was a media preview stop on Stone's promotional tour for his book, Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone, and new eco-friendly cookware line, which is so aesthetically pleasing they make savvy decorative statements.

We started with a zippy, asian-inspired Tuna Ceviche with Chile Pepper, Lime, and Soy. Followed by Fresh Linguine with Garlic Shrimp and Homemade Pesto. For our main dish, Stone presented Roasted Rack of Lamb with Provencal Ratatouille. And for all the sweet tooth ladies in the house, we finished with Blueberry Clafoutis fresh out of the oven.

WOMAN.ca gives Stone's new Kitchen Solutions line a great, big, enthuastic thumbs up. Our must-have picks...

Carve the holiday ham or turkey using the "Juicy Carving Board," which is smartly equipped with a removable stainless steel channel to catch savory, natural juices that can later be used as sauce. Another vegan-favorite is the multi-usage "Flipper Cutting Board," which, along with the cutting board, is made from eco-sustainable bamboo that won't dull your blades after you've sliced and diced.

The mortar and pestle simply rocks when crushing nuts, spices or ice - Bump & Grind, The Bay. And why hasn't someone, anyone, come up with an upright spoon rest? Stone wins points for this one Keep It Clean, The Bay. The spoon rest is certainly cinching it's fair share of rave reviews from food enthusiasts. But the big hit of the night, a multi-functional bamboo cutting board (Workbench, The Bay).

Curtis Stone's Kitchen Solutions Cookware line can be purchased at The Bay across Canada.
