Local Business Owner Refuses To Be Bagged Down By Trash

When there's no one left to count on to keep your city clean, its time for the citizens to step forward and do their part. Local Toronto businessman and entrepreneur Zark Fatah has taken it upon himself to keep the streets in his neighbourhood clean. Zark owns two upscale clubs in Toronto King West district and was immediately tuned in to the shape of his neighbourhood once the Toronto city worker's strike began on June 22nd.

"Last Friday, 20 of our staff, including owners, managers, bartenders and servers, took to the street and swept and cleaned King Street from Bathurst to Spadina", says Zark.

This block is hardly the hardest hit in the city, but nowhere is immune to garbage and waste buildup. The problem is exasperated by the heat and rain that the city experiences during the summer months.

"If the strike prolongs then once again this week we will hit the streets," says Zark, "f the streets are dirty, smelly and messy then it reflects poorly on the neighbourhood on the whole"
