Leo Leads the Cult of Eco-Celebs

The ever-charming Leonardo Dicaprio has won our hearts all over again with his never-ending commitment to the environment. The Leonardo Dicaprio Foundation has been raising money and awareness for environmental issues for more than 10 years. His site features books, films and organizations that Leo loves and supports. Leo also produced his own feature length documentary on the state of our planet called The 11th Hour in 2007.

Recently purchasing a state-of-the-art green condo in New York City, Leo just keeps on surprisingy us with his sustainable decisions. His home, called Riverhouse, overlooks the Hudson River and features solar panels, an in-house water treatment facility, a fresh filtered air system and low-emission paints and finishes. The complex has green rooftops that are 75% covered in vegetation. Riverhouse also has a special bicycle parking lot that probably suits Leo fine, as he has been spotted riding around the city with his girlfriend Bar Rafaeli.

Clearly not fazed by the common celebrity's desire for fancy cars, Leo does things his own way by embracing cycling, the most efficient way to commute in an urban neighbourhood. Sometimes its cool to be green.
