"May you live in interesting times!." Isn't that an ancient Chinese curse? Well, like it or not we do live in interesting times. At once the most destructive and the most creative.

Certainly, the environment is taking a beating these day's, no doubt, but at the same time there is no shortage what so ever of great new environmentally friendly idea's. Here are just a few of my personal favourites. Expanding deserts in Asia and Africa are a huge human tragedy, but here's a vision full of hope and promise. http://www.exploration-architecture.com/section.php?xSec=35 Have you heard about green roofs, the idea being that all city roof tops should be turned into gardens? Well, how about green walls too! http://www.g-sky.com/ Why use coal and nuclear when the sun shines enough energy on the earth in one day to supply the planets electrical needs for one year! Have you considered solar ivy? Check this out! http://www.ecogeek.org/content/view/1414/

There are literally hundreds of new innovations out there right now. Unfortunately, it's hard to change when it means some people who make money using dirty energy stand to lose, particularly when they are rich and powerful. We should all become more active when it comes to the environment. Celebrity environmentalists help. Notable among these are Brad Pitt who teamed up with the non profit group Global Green USA to build affordable environmentally friendly homes in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans, which was hit hard by hurricane Katrina. The goal of these homes was to have a zero energy bills to pay. Gee, wish we were building homes like that here.
