altMany of us couldn't dream of living in a world without internet access here in the Digital Age. However, new research shows that it may not be television or the World Wide Web that satisfies our need for happiness.

A recent study conducted by the Radio Advertising Bureau in the U.K. found that the radio is what makes us most happy, according to The Huffington Post. For the research, approximately 1,000 Brits submitted surveys on which pieces of technology make them content.

"On average, when consuming radio, happiness and energy scores increase by 100 percent and 300 percent compared to when no media is being consumed," the authors of the study wrote, according to the news source.

The respondents said that they felt that they were "plunged" back into real life immediately after watching a television program. However, listening to the radio supported other daily activities, leading to the supposed elation that people felt over time. So the next time you can't turn away from the tube, consider reaching for the dial on your stereo and see how you feel after listening to your favorite station.
