Belinda Stronach Hosts Intimate Evening to Fund New Breast Cancer Center at Sunnybrook

Sheryl Crow has the spirit of a fighter. She's a breast cancer survivor. On one special evening, she'll celebrate the indomitable spirit of all women fighting breast cancer. Live to Tell: Up Close and Personal with Sheryl Crow is a celebration bringing together those dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. This intimate gathering, hosted by Belinda Stronach at Angus Glen on May 20, 2009, will help fund the construction of a new world-leading Breast Centre at Sunnybrook.

Women fighting breast cancer depend on leading edge innovations backed by the latest research breakthroughs. They find all this at Sunnybrook's Odette Cancer Centre, home to Canada's most comprehensive cancer programs. Over 2,000 women with breast cancer, or about 1 in 10 women with breast cancer in Canada, are seen for life-saving care by Sunnybrooke specialists every year. The Sunnybrook team is dedicated to the quality of life of women at risk of or diagnosed with breast cancer, involving the patient at every stage of the care process. Sunnybrook researchers are international leaders in prevention, early detection and treatment of breast care. Quite simply, the advances they make save women's lives.

The Breast Cancer program at Sunnybrook includes expert physicians across many fields of medicine who work together to create a tailored treatment plan for each patient, targeted to her specific circumstances and the progression of her disease. Sunnybrook's Breast Cancer program has grown such that our current space can no longer accommodate our rapidly expanding program. To meet this challenge head-on, we need to increase space for clinical care, education and research.
