Green Living Never Looked So Good
WOMAN.ca recently attended Andrew Richard Designs' annual summer soiree, celebrating Andrew Bockner's gorgeous Toronto event spaces, The Loft and The Atrium and showcasing his most recent outdoor furniture collection. We noted several plucky event planners talking up the space and brazenly eyeballing ceiling heights. Come TIFF-planning time, we imagine they'll be back with their tape measures. This is one incredible venue!
Bockner, a lawyer by trade, whose family owns a mid-priced outdoor furniture business, Cana-Foam Products Ltd., partnered with brother Richard almost six years ago to launch Andrew Richard Designs, which sells and manufactures upscale outdoor furniture. A few years ago, the brothers moved next door to the Up Country furniture store to become their outdoor department. When Up Country went out of business, the Bockners renegotiated their lease to encompass both store spaces by May. The new space includes The Loft and The Atrium. The entire space is a spectacular 15,000 square feet.
The ground floor, known as
The Atrium, is a huge 7500 square foot space with: 14 ft. high
ceilings, a skylight, floor to ceiling windows, and a large wall for
art exhibits. Beautiful exterior furniture pieces showcase Andrew Richard Designs' incredible catalog of offerings - live and up close. As you make your way through the show room, you half expect a cabana boy to show up with a plate of chilled grapes. The feeling is luxury resort, as you cruise through a variety of opulent
woven tables and chairs, hammocks, chaise loungers and teak dining providing ample seating for
guests to lounge upon and enjoy. We especially love the gazebos and modern umbrellas.
Walnut hardwood flooring on site accentuates the earth tone furniture, which features rich chocolate browns, lush greens and Miami white.
The second floor, known as The Loft, is a 3500 square ft. space with
a stage area and a roof-top terrace. The furniture and fine furnishings were definitely the
highlight of this party.
Andrew Richard Designs provides unparalleled design, comfort and durability in outdoor living.
Whether it is a remote cottage getaway or your patio in the city, you'll find the perfect furniture to capture your lifestyle ideal. Drawing upon four decades of designing

They can also work with existing furniture by updating cushions and accents. They offer about 150 fabrics including non-fading Sunbrella fabrics. Andrew Richard Designs also has several international and domestic hotel chains as clients, and last summer outfitted the players and VIP lounges at tennis' Rogers Cup at Toronto's York University. The company developed a woven product called Solartex, whose signature piece is a tranquility bed a double chaise for relaxing that retails for $3,995. The Fairmont Turnberry Isle in North Miami recently bought about 60 to use as lounging pods for their outdoor pool deck.
Their goal in the next few years is to come out with a completely environmental outdoor furniture line that is 100 per cent recyclable manufactured in Canada.
