Late next month, some of the world’s most creative and innovative minds will come out to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto for the 13th annual Interior Design Show/IDS 2011 presented by RADO.
Since
its inception in 1998, Canada’s largest contemporary design fair, The
Interior Design Show, has seen over 550,000 visitors, close to 5,000
media, and 4,000 businesses and individuals.
The
Interior Design Show 2011, held from January 27 to 30, consists of
one-off exhibits and unique installations by Canada’s best, in addition
to 300 exhibitors, presenting their design products and services for
your home, restaurant, or hotel. You will find something for every
taste.
Some
of those exhibitors include Andrew Richard Designs, Cecconi Simone
Inc., Toronto Life, The Wine Studio, The Globe and Mail, Style at Home
Magazine, Sheridan College, Ryerson University, OCAD, Interior
Designers of Canada, IKEA, Humber College, homeTRADER, Designlines,
Canadian Interiors Magazine, Azure Magazine, and AUDI Canada, to name
just a few.
In
attendance will be design professionals, discerning consumers, and
media guests, along with world-renowned industry leaders and raw talent
invited to share their ideas through never-before-seen feature exhibits
and thought-provoking talks.
Through
their travels from Miami to Milan, the IDS team humbly brings you 13 of
the world’s highly acclaimed designers and architects: British-born and
Hong Kong-based designer Michael Young of Michael Young Studios;
Paris-based architect, inventor and designer Jean-Marie Massaud of
Massaud Studios; and Los Angeles-based architect Thom Mayne, principal
of Morphosis, among others.
IDS11
is a symposium of all things design, featuring a fundraising auction of
Vitra Panton Chairs for Casey House, design-shopping for under $500, a
student showcase of work from some of Canada's best design programs,
and many more.
The
Interior Design Show/IDS 2011 will kick off with an opening night party
on Thursday, January 27, followed by a professional trade day on
Friday, January 28. The show will be $19 general admission on Saturday,
January 29 and Sunday, January 30.
