Easy Tips For A Clean Bathroom

Spring cleaning is around the corner and you might be dreading the workout that accompanies your scrub down session in the bathroom.

No matter how many people live in a house or apartment, whether it’s a family of five or just you, the bathroom tends to get dirty the fastest because of constant use.

To save you time and money on cleaning products, here are some suggestions on how to tackle the most difficult problems in the bathroom:

Sink - Pour a cup of white vinegar and a cup of baking soda down the drain twice a month. After an hour, add warm water. This mix works well to ensure the avoidance of build up in the drain and can be used for the bath tub and kitchen sink as well.

Toilet - Once again white vinegar comes to the rescue and can tackle the problem of alkaline deposits that cause rings around the bowl. However, depending on how bad it is, two cups of white vinegar may be needed. Also, to give it a good scrub turn off the water flow and scrub with a stiff nylon brush and pumice stone. Rub gently around the bowl until the stains are gone

Mirror - Use a spray bottle filled with 1/3 cup white vinegar and 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol, along with 1 tablespoon of dish detergent. Soak paper towels with the solution and wipe down the mirror, ensuring that it is left spotless and without streaks.

Faucet -  Avoid orange, citrus based, or powdered cleaning solutions on brass or gold faucets as they are likely to be scratched and damaged. Soap scum and water deposits build up easily around faucets so you’re probably used to them being dirty most of the time. Use a fine toothbrush or nylon brush soaked in the aforementioned white vinegar solution and scrub until clean. Do this weekly and the condition will last longer.

Mildew - To avoid mildew, spray your bathroom ceiling every six months with a half and half solution of water and hydrogen peroxide.
