Eye-catching flowers for the summer season

altIf your garden seems to be lacking a little color this season, you may be onto something. Even the most popular flowers don't hold their color for very long as the summer goes on, no matter how much watering you do. Before choosing new flowers to plant in your garden to create a show-stopping lawn, consider these eye-catching varieties:

1. Day lilies. These flowers boast a bright yellow hue that can hardly be rivaled, and the best part about them is they require little more than regular watering. In clusters, day lilies can turn a garden from drab to fab in a matter of weeks.

2. Morning glories. Although these flowers are small, a bunch of them together can make for an eye-catching display. Morning glories come in a number of different varieties as well, ranging from colors such as purple, blue and even pink.

3. Geraniums. Many people think of roses or daisies when they want a traditional attractive flower for their garden. However, geraniums now come in number of different breeds and hues. You can find geraniums in colors such as violet, pink and red to suit your taste. Best of all, they are one of the easiest flowers to maintain.
