Check out our list of 5 things to keep in mind while planning your honeymoon

In all the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, you're probably wondering when you're going to find the time plan the post-celebration celebration. There is a lot to consider and, unfortunately, a lot that gets overlooked. If you construct a practical checklist to refer to well in advance, you will be on your way to a perfect getaway with not a worry in the world! Here are some helpful pointers:

Budget before location: - Before you get carried away with all the exotic ideas you have in your imagination, take some time to sit down as a couple and decide what your budget is. The choice of destination will rely greatly on how much you are spending. But wait, don't let that depress you. Whatever your budget is, there are always great deals and travel packages for locations that are sure to pique your interest. Just make sure you know what you're working with before you whip out that credit card.

Pick a spot: - Select a destination and get excited about it! After all the financial details and organizing of funds, choosing the perfect spot to relax and shake off all the stress accumulated over the past 9 months is an exciting experience for couples and heightens the anticipation. This is your holiday, indulge in the creativity you put in to the planning.

Book your accommodations: -In order to really enjoy the process leading up to the wedding, the major details should be taken care of before the minor ones. The hotel, the flight, maybe even those 'extras' you plan on taking part in that require reservations ahead of time. You'll feel better once you know the big stuff is behind you in planning.

Travel Documents: - An excellent motto when planning any excursion is "leave room for damage control". If you don't have your passport yet but you've heard that it only takes 4-5 days, just assume that in your case it could take up to 4-5 months. Likely? Probably not, but it's better to be prepared. Organize all of your identification and be sure that you keep it somewhere safe before you leave. Write yourself a reminder a week in advance to put them away and don't forget to double check.

Don't trust your memory: - It doesn't matter how many Vitamin B12 supplements you take or whether you're the one person in the family who has the sharpest recollections of every significant event in your lifetime, when you're getting married something happens to your mind, and it comes close to "explosion". You will have lists for every category imaginable and a short time span to produce results, so do yourself (and everyone else) a favor by writing everything down and referring to it often. You will thank yourself later (and so will everyone else).
