Take Our Test and Find Out For Yourself
When
you're in a relationship, and happy, it's often hard to tell the
difference between love and lust. Love is a feeling of deep connection,
and unconditional support. Lust, alternatively, often
proves to be temporary and a little shallow in nature. Sadly, however, love and lust can be hard to tell apart,
Relationships based wholly on lust
are usually very short-lived. Physical attraction is powerful, and also
important, and usually applies to both love and lust. So how can you
know if you're in lust or you're in love? Love
requires discipline and commitment while lust usually tosses commitment
into the wind. Lust can cause someone to act spontaneously, however
love makes people want to think and consider their options.
Take our following test to find out if you are, in fact, in love or in lust:
1.
Your partner surprises you with breakfast in bed. As he's placing it
down beside you, he leans in for a kiss. You've got insane morning
breath, and you can feel the dried drool crusting next to your mouth.
Do you let him come in for the smooch?
a)
Yes, he's seen me at my worse, and I'm not worried about him smelling
my harsh breath at all! And, while we're at it... why stop at just a
kiss.
b) No, I wouldn't want to smell his musty mouth when he first woke up. Have some respect. Bad breath turns me right off.
2. You find a note with a phone number and the name Jessica' tucked into his back pocket. You:
a)
Bring it up with him, admit that you snooped in the pockets of his
pants and found it, and want to give him a chance to explain it.
b)
You leave the note taped to the mirror, with your own message written
next to it in lipstick saying ENJOY JESSICA, JERK! Doesn't matter
what excuse he comes up with - no guy with a girlfriend should be
taking numbers from other women.
3. You're best friend is having a house-warming party but your boyfriend has offered to cook you dinner at the last minute. You:
a)
Go anyway! Any good guy knows that it's chicks before dicks. He'll
understand, and he can cook next week.
b) Are you kidding? There will
be tons of people there. Make an excuse and tell your girl you'll make
it up to her next week, she'll understand. Plus, he worked so hard and
you're dying for some alone time with your man.
4. You're staring at
yourself in the mirror after a shower. You notice your man sitting
behind you. You ask him if he thinks you have recently put on weight.
He says honestly, yes. You:
a) Dust off the old runners and hit the
gym. You've been meaning to get back there for a while.
b) Tell him to
screw off. If he doesn't like your body then this is the last he'll see
of it.
5.
You're grabbing a coffee with your guy and he reaches into his pockets
to pay. He comes up empty. Again. This is the third time this week, and
although you understand money has been tight, you:
a)
Shell it out this time, but make sure to tell him that he owes you
dinner, and mean it. You're all for women paying for themselves, but
going dutch is more your style.
b) Pay for the deadbeat's latte. It's
much easier than bringing up money. Awk-ward!
MOSTLY A:
Well,
looks like it's love. When you're in love, there should be an equal
amount of push and pull. Know when to give in, and when to speak up. You
should never be afraid to tell the truth because you know that even the
harshest reality can't hurt what you have. The sex is great, but it's not the most important thing, and you love that he loves your appearance, but he know that he cares about so much more.
MOSTLY
B:
Smells like lust to us. Although you can't seem to get enough of
him, your feelings aren't extremely deep. Forgiveness for error isn't
in the cards, and although he's hot, you're not about to let him get
away with anything - even if he's got a good reason. You feel like you
can be honest with him about somethings, but sometimes the truth isn't
worth the uncomfortable conversation to follow.
