Michael Cera's Canadian Star is Rising

Over the last few weeks I've been having a Michael Cera love fest. First I rented the movie Youth in Revolt which has an all-star cast including Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, Ray Liotta, Jean Smart and more. It's about Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) falling for Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday) and the crazy BAD things he has to do to try to be with her. Michael has two rolls in this movie. He also plays his evil alter ego Francois Dillinger. It's extremely funny!

Then I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Based on a comic book, this is one of the most original movies I've seen in a long time. The best part? It's based in Toronto! Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is in love with Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) but in order to date her he first needs to defeat her 7 Deadly evil ex boyfriends. The movie also stars Jason Schwartzman and Brandon Routh. Check out Emer's review of it here.

My Michael Cera fest did not end there. I then popped Juno (filmed in B.C.) into my DVD player. I absolutely love Juno. Starring fellow Canadian, Ellen Page, this movie is about teenage pregnancy. Michael even sings on the soundtrack! Such a talented guy.

Last but not least, my friend brought over the first season of Arrested Development. A younger (chubbier) Michael Cera plays George-Michael Bluth. The show is arguably the funniest TV show ever made and is about Cera's character's father Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) picking up the pieces of their dysfunctional family after George Bluth Sr. (played by Jeffrey Tambor) is taken to jail in the first episode.

Michael was born June 7th, 1988 in Brampton Ontario. Currently single, the adorable star used to date his Paper Heart costar Charlyne Yi.

Michael, if you're reading this...call me!

Which is your favourite Michael Cera movie?
