Mel Gibson Doesn't Make The Cut For Hangover 2

Last week we mentioned that The Hangover 2 is currently set for filming and Hollywood reject Mel Gibson was in the running for a cameo appearance as a bartender.

Cast member and star of the original movie Zac Galifianakis has since been reported to be in cahoots with director Todd Phillips about Gibson's involvement. After rumours that the star would refuse to work on the movie at all under the circumstances, Phillips finally spoke out this week and announced that the controversial actor would no longer be a part of the sequel.

In an interview with Etonline.com, Phillips said: "He's one of our finest actors and, quite honestly, one of our finest directors. But The Hangover 2 is a family... and as much as I loved the idea, a lot of people didn't... I didn't want anything to come in between that family."

One big drunken family without the most fabled drunk of all!? A bit of a shock and scandal seekers might be disappointed at the sudden cut; but majority rules!

Gibson has made headlines over the past few years for a series of offenses, including a DUI and an online leaking of verbal whiplash with former girlfriend. The decision to fire him from the film was a good call, in our opinion. Mr. Gibson, you've officially been cut off. We'll call you a cab.
