Jon Bon Jovi Gives Love a Bad Name

Who hasn't belted out one of Jon Bon Jovi's trade mark classics in a karaoke bar, and thought, "Man I should start a Bon Jovi tribute band". Before you go rounding up all your buddies who own a key tar, you better think again before you mess with the likes of Jon Bon Jovi and his legal team.

Los Angeles-based female Bon Jovi tribute band Blonde Jovi has been forced to change their name as lawyers from Blakely Sokoloff Taylor & Zafman who represent Jon Bon Jovi feel that the two names are too closely related and it might cause fan confusion.

If the five girls on stage didn't give it away that you weren't really seeing Bon Jovi, then maybe the venues, ticket prices and the name BLONDE JOVI would clue you in. If you're still sitting on your bar stool wondering which one of these fine ladies is Bon Jovi then you have either done too many drugs or have had too much to drink.

Blonde Jovi have temporarily changed the name of their band to Blonde Jersey and commented on the legal drama on their MySpace blog:

"Due to threatened legal action by Jon Bon Jovi's attorneys, we will no longer be using the name BLONDE JOVI. We are temporarily calling ourselves BLONDE JERSEY, until we come up with a new name. If you have any name suggestions, please email us! Nothing containing JOVI or anything similar to JOVI may be used so BLONDE GIOVI, BLONDE JOE V, BLONDE JOVIE, are not options. Thanks for your support! Too bad we didn't go with our original name idea of BOOB JOVI!"

My gut says that the real Bon Jovi got word that these ladies have better hair then him and now he's firing back the best way he knows how. With expensive legal proceedings. I bet AC/DC would never pull this with their tribute bands, such as AC/DShe!
