Maybe The Harajuku Girls Will Be Cast As Extras
After a five-year hiatus, two solo albums and two kids, singer Gwen Stefani will reunite with her band No Doubt on an episode of Gossip Girl.
Huh, Serena van der Woodsen doesn't particularly strike us as the holla back girl type.
No Doubt will perform on the hit CW show's second-to-last episode of the season on May 11. The band will play Adam and the Ants' '80s hit "Stand and Deliver." The episode will serve as the pilot for the series prequel starring Kelly Rutherford which is set in the "like, gag me with a spoon" decade.
The rockin' news comes on the heels of the group's announcement that they are re-forming to hit the road for a summer tour.
"I don't think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again," singer Stefani wrote during a chat on the band's website.
But fans will have to wait a bit longer for new music from the group. Plans for a new album have been postponed. "We're not even going to do a record. We're just going to go right on tour and have fun," said Stefani.
"We know that if we get to see you guys, we're going to get really inspired to make music."
No Doubt's last studio album was 2001's Rock Steady.
