Lets talk tunes.
share new fave songs for the rest of us to rock out too. Therese nothing more satisfying than sharing favorite songs, or new bands, and performers.
check out dazed digital's monthly playlists, theres a bit of old and a lot of new. http://www.dazeddigital.com/archive/Default.aspx?PageNum=1&currCat=29 usually have some pretty wicked new music.
oh, and i came across this neat website the other day: www.nevver.com -- every day, they pair one film still with an accompanying song. it's kinda artsy-fartsy, but also strangely compelling...
i find that the cbc radio 3 podcast is a good source for up-and-coming canadian indie bands. npr's "all songs considered" also usually has some good recommendations.
I usually listen to my favorite french radio station based in Paris, I love it. It's a good place to see how the European market is evolving in the music industry. The website is www.novaplanet.com, so tell me what you think. They usually have a wide range of different types of music from motown to ragga. On the weekend they have Gilles Peterson spinning exclusively for two hours, my favorite.
Haha yay! Hypemachine is the best. They have a built in media player, so you can play any song in your brower, plus it will play every song on the page, in order, if you let it. Best site to find specific remixes for sure. Palmsout.blogspot.com used to do "Remix Sunday" where they would post 20 or so new remixes every week for you to download. They don't do them anymore but you can go through the archives and find some really great stuff.
there are some more really interesting mgmt remixes/mashups/covers floating around the blogosphere right now. the kooks did a nice acoustic-ish version of 'kids,' diplo remixed 'time to pretend' and terry urban mashed-up 'electric feel' with q-tip. you can hear all of them (and more) at hypemachine.
