Seed Your City Charity Gala

E-mail comment on this item

The Seed Your City Charity Gala event on October 21st, 2009 from 7-late will be the first event in which corporations; government and the community will actively participate in the raising of funds to support the growing of natural food in the very back yards of their own communities.
Fabulous photography, paintings, collectibles and prize-winning produce will be auctioned off over a freshly prepared dinner created from our antique seed lines, and will be held at the beautiful atrium in Yorkville’s Hazelton Lanes at Greg Couillard’s Spice Room.
Great speakers will give fresh perspective into the future of seed diversity, sustainable communities and the importance of our city’s growth and environmental awareness. This sui generis evening will be live and interactive and attentees will leave feeling like they have made a contribution to social change.
Donations will go towards preserving and propagating heirloom seeds through the development of Art and Garden spaces. The Seed Your City initiative will create many opportunities for community growth, and involvement, and have a specific focus on building sustainable centers with the education of ecological literacy, waste minimization, energy conservation, and school Ground Greening through unique curriculums developed by the Artan Gardens team.
