Beautiful Imperfection: The Best Part of Motherhood

"I'm an Imperfect Mom and Proud of It!"

Do you remember the infamous "I Am Canadian" rant? If you haven't seen it, check it out here. I loved the fact that it took stereotypes of "Canada" and debunked them. I want to do the same about being a perfect mom. So many moms are running themselves ragged because they're trying to be everything to everyone. And they feel guilty when they come up short. Stop the insanity!
There's always room to improve ourselves and to become better versions of who we are now. But that doesn't mean trying to be perfect is the answer. It will always lead to failure. And as a Life Coach who encourages positivity and optimism, I don't say that lightly. Read my rant below and see how I am an "imperfect mom" and proud of it.
Hey,
I'm not a Supermom
Or a Stepford Wife.
And I don't clean my toilets.
Or feed my son organic food.
Or own a Bugaboo stroller.
And I wish death on
Baby Bop, BJ and Barney.
Although my son adores them.
I still use plastic products not BPA free.
I would take a bullet for my son but have no interest in holding other babies.
And I am behind on my scrapbooks.
I stopped breastfeeding at 3 months because I wanted to get my body back- not because it "wasn't working".
I believe in buying birthday cakes, not baking them.
And that being funny is better than being a genius.
TV CAN be educational and Sesame Street rocks!
And in Canada, it is pronounced "zed" not "zee" "zed" (although I say zee because it sounds better in songs).
Motherhood is the hardest job in the world. Being pregnant sucks. But my son is the light of my life. My name is Carly and I. AM. IMPERFECT!
Thank you.

It's time to celebrate our imperfections and accept them. All your family really needs is your unconditional love and support.

How are you an imperfect mom?
