Homemade Cat Litter

DIY Kitty Litter is Easy and Inexpensive

Cats have an advantage over dogs you don't have to walk them several times a day whenever they need to use the facilities. However, cat litter can be expensive, messy and gross. To save money (and your nose), try using some homemade cat litter!

The best solution is use old newspapers. You can go the simple route and just shred them up for your cat, but some cats might not take to it and they'll get newspaper all over your house.

Instead, get some soapy water and soak the shreds of newspaper. Then drain the mixture and soak it in clean water. Then add baking soda and crumble it up. The result will look a lot like store bought litter but without the cost.

Since most cat litter contains clay which is mined in environmentally harmful ways, this homemade cat littler is good for the environment and your wallet as the only cost is that of the baking soda!

Failing that, you can always just teach your cat to use the toilet!
