altAre you having trouble conceiving? You're not alone - millions of women find that they encounter some difficulty when trying for a baby, and many even turn to fertility treatments. But before you call the doc, you might want to try hitting the spa. A new study suggests that a reduction in stress levels can help make you more fertile.

The news isn't that shocking when you consider what all women already know - being stressed out can really affect your cycle. If you've ever experienced serious anxiety over a personal problem, an upcoming test or some other situation, you may have experienced an unusual or absent period, as well. That's because stress can suppress ovulation, preventing you from conceiving.

"According to a new study in Fertility and Sterility, women who've had trouble getting pregnant were more likely to conceive if they worked on stress reduction while undergoing fertility treatments," explains Cosmopolitan. In fact, the study's researchers found that women who underwent a stress-reduction treatment that involved relaxation training and social support were 32 percent more likely to conceive (using in vitro fertilization) than women who didn't. Even if you're not ready to turn to IVF, taking a yoga class or seeing a therapist about your stress might even make it easier for your to conceive naturally. So light up some aromatherapy candles and take a bath - let go of some of that daily anxiety!
