Divine Baked French Toast

Sumptuous French toast recipe that can be breakfast or dessert alike!
Ingredients
1 C. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 C. margarine 2 Tbs. light corn syrup 8 slices thickly sliced Italian bread 6 eggs 1 1/2 C. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/8 tsp. salt

In a saucepan combine brown sugar, margarine and corn syrup. Bring to a full boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer until thickened (approx. 2-3 minutes). Pour mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Place bread evenly in pan. Beat eggs and add all other ingredients. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, bake, uncovered 45 minutes in a 350-degree oven, until light brown.

Serve with warm syrup.

This is a personal favourite. I suggest you add fried bananas with maple syrup to take the recipe to the next level!
