Milly's Maple Cinnamon Frosted Muffins

Small, slightly spiced treats you can bring to any party or book club gathering.
Ingredients
2 1/4 C. flour 1/4 C. cornstarch 1 C. granulated sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 C. butter, softened 1 C. brown sugar, packed 2 tsp. vanilla extract 1 C. buttermilk 3 eggs Frosting: 1 Tbs. maple syrup 1 tsp.cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 C. butter , softened 1/3 C. milk 3 C. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease muffins pans. In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients. In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add vanilla and buttermilk; mix well. Then add eggs and mix well. Fill prepared muffin pans (only 3/4 full). Bake 20 minutes or until done. Cool.

To make frosting:
Combine ingredients and mix well. Frost cooled muffins.
