If Katie Holmes is plotting her escape from hubster Tom Cruise, at least she's dressed for stealth in a chic, head-to-toe black Alexander McQueen ensemble.

She looks long and leggy in satin pants (hurray, no pegged jeans!) and the halter top with keyhole detail pops the look from just meh to marv. We think fashionista-in-training Suri would approve, especially mom's pedi-cute peep toes.

The former Dawson's Creek star even managed to do something with her hair now that it's grown out of that awkward in-between stage, debuting a sleek, extension-free 'do.

We'd love to sneak a peek inside her clutch to see if she's smuggling smokes, but she was probably frisked before walking out the door.

But next time, Katie, don't stop for pics, just run!
