It's pretty low to pose as a teenager and friend your
estranged husband on Facebook, but it's even lower if you find out that
he was actually plotting to have you murdered and run away with your
kids. That's exactly what happened to Angela Voelkert, who got a lot
more than she bargained for when she clicked "Add as friend." But wait -
there's more to this story than meets the eye.
Voelkert, 29, was already planning on divorcing her husband David, 38
- but she knew the proceedings were going to be messy, so she hoped
that by posing as a teenager and checking out David's Facebook, she
could dig up a little dirt on him and sway the proceedings in her favor,
reports the New York Post. Calling herself "Jessica Studebaker," she
began communication with David via the social networking site - where he
revealed a sinister plot to kill her.
But it may not be as simple as it seems - David presented police with a
signed and notarized affidavit dated May 25 stating that he was lying to
discover if the teen was his wife in disguise, according to The Smoking
Gun. Charges against him have been dropped.
Hmm, a case of spy versus spy?
