Laura Linney Breaks Showtime Records

Last night was a big night for Showtime premiers. Loyal Weeds fans tuned in to see their favourite single mother deal dope to get by, and the reviews were good, as usual. But the show-stealer award goes to Laura Linney for her killer performance in the series premier of The Big C.

Sure to be Showtime's next huge hit, the new series, brought in a staggering 1.154 million viewers for it's premiere episode. This is a record breaker for the network, marking it's highest viewership in eight years!

It's safe to say that The Big C will serve as stiff competition in the coming weeks. The show is about a mother who is diagnosed with cancer. Although not exactly a laughter inducing topic, critics are raving about the impressive wit and timing of this unique dramedy.
