Katy Perry to open Saturday Night Live's season premiere
NBC is gearing up for its 36th season of Saturday Night Live and their big announcement this week is that the musical debut for the much anticipated premiere will be none other than Katy Perry. Already number one on the Billboard chart with her second album "Teenage Dream", featuring two successful singles "California Gurls" and the title-track "Teenage Dream", Perry is a pop superstar and one of Hollywood's hottest icons right now. The singer used Twitter to announce her "big surprise" with plenty of excitement over sharing the stage with SNL alumnus and Emmy award winner Amy Poehler, who is set to host the show.
Returning September 25 with the first of three consecutive brand new episodes, Saturday Night Live will kick off their new season with returning members and also introduce featured players Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam, and Jay Pharoah.
Tune in on NBC.
