Bachelor Pad Finale

Bachelor Pad finale says goodbye to first season

It was down to the wire last night on Bachelor Pad! If you missed it in favor of something that was actually worth your time, we don't blame you - but here's the scoop.

The final three couples became the final two in no time as the biggest challenge of the season launched the contestants into an all day Dancing With The Stars rehearsal. Their task was to perform a minute and a half long dance routine in front of a panel of judges (who we later discover are host, former 'Bachelor' cast member, and Dancing With The Stars contestant Melissa Rycroft, Bachelor Jake Pavelka, and Bachelorette star Trista Rehn) in exchange for the winning title and permission to choose which of the two losing couples gets to move forward with them. Tenley, of course, was an over ecstatic sprite hearing this news while her beau Kiptyn was not so sure he could pull through. Arriving at the dance studio, the couples find out that their instructors are Chelsie, Edyta, and Louis of Dancing With The Stars fame and they all get a little star-struck. That is, all but Elizabeth as she endured a day's worth of observing the extraordinarily sexy, long-legged Edyta dance up on her man. Seething, she still managed to cover her jealousy well and opted for the classy high road of the unnatural, eye bulging smile to let us know she's totally cool with it.

Kiptyn surprised Tenley and the cast by stepping up his A game and nailing the dance routine, making the couple an instant favourite among the judges. They won the competition! Elizabeth and Kovacs bombed their gig and Dave and Natalie were a close second with their fiery chemistry in the Rumba routine.

Tenley and Kiptyn were then given the extremely hard choice of sending one of their couple friends home. After much deliberation, Dave and Natalie were chosen to stay, sending Kovacs and Elizabeth packing. A respectable choice, given that the latter would have been easy competition for the end.

The second half of the show consisted of a Bachelor Pad reunion where all the ex housemates sat glamorous and gleaming in front of a studio audience, ready to roast each other. We find out that Gia is no longer with the boyfriend she had on the show (surprising no one) and Wes is still in love with her, fawning over her all night, claiming that "bad boys need love too". Given that there was really nothing 'bad boy' about his image after Jillian's season, I suggest the badge he gave himself be revoked. The segment was a lot of "why did you/why didn't you?" shot back and forth between Gia, Nikki, and others. When the final two couples were brought to the stage, Michelle had a few unforgiving words for Tenley and Krisily expressed hurt over Dave's negligence towards her before being kicked off the show. By the end of the night, it is up to all of the cast members to vote for which couple should move on to the final round and win the money. The majority went with Dave and Natalie, and said bye-bye to Kip-Ten.

Here's where it got scandalous. Dave and Natalie were told that for their final competition, they are each being sent to a private room in which they will find two cards, one that says "KEEP" and one that says "SHARE". They must decide if they want to keep the money to themselves or share it with their partner - but the tricky part is that the actual outcome relies solely on what the other chooses. If one keeps and the other shares, the keeper gets the money. If they both share, they split it at $125,000 each. And, in an interesting twist, if they both choose to keep - the money is divided up between the former players. Anticipation and suspense are built up intensely as Dave chooses "SHARE" and Natalie laps up the attention in holding everyone's breath for her answer. At first, because of her request to say something before revealing her card, we think she chose to keep it. But as it turns out, she proudly flashes her "SHARE" card and Dave loses his mind in hysteria as he flings himself across the room excitedly, imposing his prize winning lips on everyone in sight.

But let's not lose perspective here. From trash talk to random hook ups and cat fights... we all know that on Bachelor Pad no one was a real keeper. Anyone up for Monday night football?
