America's Got Talent winner proposes on TV.
When a man loves a woman, he proposes to her. On television. At least, that's what Michael Grimm thinks, this season's $1 million dollar winner of America's Got Talent. The 30 year-old soulful, Mississippi born blues singer found himself a bandwagon of loyal fans the moment he stepped on stage with his acoustic guitar and black fedora as an instant staple to his image. Crooning classics like "When A Man Loves A Woman" and attributing his ambitious journey to his doting grandparents, Grimm wooed the crowds and finally won them over with the champion title Tuesday night.
More notable than his victory, however, is his appearance on Friday's segment of The Ellen De Generes Show during which he discusses his plans to buy a house for his grandparents - and to marry his girlfriend of three years, Lucy.
"She's been there for me," Grimm told DeGeneres during the show. "Once you find that good woman you hang on to her." He explained that Lucy was the inspiration behind his final song choice on Tuesday, "When A Man Loves A Woman".
Mid-interview, De Generes called Lucy down from the audience as Grimm got down on one knee to propose. She said yes.
What are your thoughts on Grimm's television proposal? Romantic or tacky?
