Canada Introduces "Lake Shore"
Meet the cast of Lake Shore Canada's new offensive, multi-ethnic version of Jersey Shore, featuring "The Turk", "The Italian", "The Jew", "The Czech", "The Albanian", "The Lebanese" and "Anni Mei" (like 'anime' because, you know, she's Vietnamese).
Somehow this is happening. Somehow this is real life. Filmed in Toronto but currently without a network, Lake Shore is creating hype already with their "sizzle reel" trailer for the show on YouTube. And when we say 'hype', we mean that on Wednesday morning the site crashed due to the volume of web traffic. What is more disconcerting?
The fact that there is a Canadian Jersey Shore or the fact that there are already fans of it? Apparently this crew of culturally diverse partiers are going to be living it up in Toronto and filming whatever crazy antics they can come up with. Based on the trailer, the show may be even more shocking than its American counterpart. Expect to see shirtless dancing, wild parties, tactless dialogue, motor-boating and a frenzied news feed on Facebook soon enough.
The people who say "everything happens for a reason" have some serious explaining to do. What reason could there possibly be for this? What unfortunate series of events lead to this decision? Who was in the board room when this idea was green lighted? So far there doesn't seem to be any mention of "GTL" on the show, but if we're lucky a confused 'WTF" from television networks will save us from this....Situation.
